A Sailor Mercury Christmas :)

This Christmas was a super one in regards to presents :) Two of the best ones came from my sister, who is the complete opposite of me and isn't a fan of anime, in the form of Sailor Mercury figures. So that makes these presents that much more special!

The first one is the one I've been pining for this past year: Sailor Mercury FiguartsZERO.

I love the action snapshot in Ami's element and the expression is the cherry on top. I really wish she had a gentle smile but her concentrated expression is good enough. The pleats and shadow work is amazing, making the price so worth it (she was purchased through Amazon Prime for $89.99, which is better than $126 that I've been seeing locally).

The splash at the base makes a great effect to the overall piece as well as the water that seems to bend to her will at the corner. This figure line is phenomenal with the exception of Sailor Moon, which was AWFUL. I'll eventually be adding the

The second figure I was given this morning was from the Girls Memories by Banpresto. My sister said this was the one she could get before Christmas prior to learning about the other one on Prime. I do like the simplicity of this one, especially the typical Ami smile.

In regards to colour palette, the shades are much lighter. It reflects a peaceful and carefree atmosphere, a great contrast to the previous figure, that comes in a lovely dark blue palette, in multiple ways. This was the pose she ended her transformation scene in the first series so a great reminder of the days of old.

One thing that definitely is the same with both of them is the...accurate details of Ami's covered crotch and bum. My lovely sister described it as "pervertedly right" and I have to say that yes, I do agree with her. In the second figure, the leotard bottom falls naturally against the bum while the first depicts a much rounder bottom and a much more artistic approach to it because of the angle.

Aside from that, these figures are wonderful and I'm so happy to receive them. Unfortunately, there wasn't many friends I could show this to because they wouldn't really care much, haha.

I hope everyone else's Christmas was marvelous as possible :)
