Character Defense: The Feminine Girls Ft. Matou Sakura & Ryuzaki Sakuno
Two such characters are Matou Sakura (Fate series) & Ryuzaki Sakuno (Prince of Tennis) and they definitely fell into the girly-girls-who-are-disliked-because-they-are-so-not-hardcore-enough category. This post is to defend them so if such a thing offends you, it's best not to read ;)
Let's begin with Sakura, a character from a series where magic existed and the darker side of humans were depicted. She was the younger sister of Tohsaka Rin and adopted by the Matou family at a young age due to political reasons. She lived in a home where she was abused by the family and raped by magical worms for 11 years.
Sakura had an abusive history and for her to be able to hide her true feelings was amazing. She seemed to be a sweet girl but had an underlying aggression. It eventually personified into a personality, showcasing the submerged emotions within:

I should mention that the PoT fandom was heavily immersed in yaoi preferences. That's probably why many hate her as well - she 'gets in the way of a yaoi otp'. It's as if all the yaoi pairings in fandom exists in canon...well, the majority don't. There's nothing wrong with shipping a particular couple at all but the reaction to third parties and threats, or 'threats' do.
The common factor between the two was that they were, again, quite feminine (being associated with pinks, pastels and 'girly' outfits) and this worked against them. It's as if these types of characters do not have a place among particular fandoms.
An Overview of Library Wars: Love & War (Spoilers)
The plot is based on the Statement on Intellectual Freedom in Libraries which was put in place in 1954, only to be amended in 1979 in Japan. A paper discussing the background of this document can be found here. It is short, concise and indirectly gives insight to the premise of the manga.
In the beginning, the concept was a little strange to me since I've been raised in a country which, for the most part, allows such freedoms. As the story went on, I began understanding how annoying and frustrating it must be for the citizens to lose their freedom to read what they desire. The government seems to want people to become obedient and halt free thought.
The characters are likable and the pairing between Iku and Dojo is endearing. Iku serves as a combat orientated character who is not very academically intelligent. This causes comical situations as others react differently to her lack of attention to detail.
Almost every time, she is scolded by Dojo, who has a soft spot for her but is incredibly hard on her. Tezuka, Komaki, Shizubaki, and Genda, her colleagues, have developed into more than merely supporting characters. They really drive the plot forward and at the end of each situation is a sweet scene between Dojo and Iku.
In regards to the art, I have a bias towards the style of Kiiro Yumi and any others similar to hers. The postures and poses seem very natural and detailed. The cover images are gorgeous, in my opinion, although very deceiving in terms of relationship development.
There is also an anime based on the original work. I haven't watched it yet but from the images, Iku is definitely much more feminine in the manga.
Building a Home Chicken Coop
The purpose of a chicken coop must be to safeguard chickens from extremes in weather conditions - heat and cold, wind and rain. In areas where the weather makes this necessary the coop should be built in a manner that supplies this shelter for the chickens by means of sufficient insulating material. For chickens dislike high temperatures, windows need to be targeted in such a way to prevent overheating. Adequate air flow is also essential.
A chicken coop ought to provide seamless access to an outside pen during the day. Chickens need access to their coop for their nesting boxes and egg laying. Sand is a great flooring that chickens enjoy and it is good for water drainage in the outside secured run. A chicken coop may not have to be heated, plus a hot chicken coop may not necessarily be healthy for the flock. It is dependent upon the climate, weather, and situation.
Any chicken coop should be simple to keep clean. It should be free from dust, dirt, and spiderwebs. The roof structure should be water tight. In a well-equipped chicken coop, the most difficult thing you'll have to do, most times, is remember to gather the eggs. Beginning a brand new backyard chicken coop can be a lot of work. Responding to rules, constructing your coop, choosing the right birds ... Didn't somebody suggest keeping chickens was going to be simple?
The very good news is, if you've accomplished all of the above, the difficult part is over. You'll find that raising chickens is going to be less difficult than looking after lots of household pets. Because chickens look for a quiet place to lay their eggs, nesting boxes, filled with clean, dry hay or similar substance, are an essential attribute of the majority of chicken coops.
In a commercial context "free range" can sometimes mean that chickens only have an exceptionally modest space to wander and just at certain times of the day. Otherwise they spend their days and nights in cages. Small farm owners and backyard homesteaders ought to know, however, that free range means chickens can peck, forage, and wander wherever they want, and whenever they want.
Keeping fresh water available to the flock is essential. Chickens can only stay alive two or three days without having hydration, so negelecting to refill an undersized dish every day can lead to tragedy.
A backyard chicken coop may be a great source of fresh eggs, enjoyment, meat, and a direct lesson on exactly where our food originates. Nurturing chickens is relatively hassle-free, affordable, and together with just a little advance work and expenditure, can be a gratifying addition to your life.

Written by: Morgan JamesonPet Care is a Very Challenging and Complex Task
Caring for pets is not as easy as it might appear. The animals like cats and dogs are extremely sensitive creatures and require extensive tending and attention. If you fail to do so, he or she might suffer from depression, anxiety and other behavioral changes and fall sick. Thus, it is very important that proper pet care is rendered.
How to offer pet care when you are away from home?
Often you have to stay away from your home due to work or any other reason, isn't it? How to handle and tender the canine friends in such a situation? Who will attend them when you aren't at home with your friend? This is a serious issue because they cannot stay alone as they require constant care and attention.
Is there any solution to the problem? Don't get distressed and give a big smile because there is an amazing solution and it lies with the pet sitters or the boarding care centers. Depending upon your tastes and preferences you can choose either of the one for proper guardianship of the animals in your absence.
How should one render the complete and proper tender?
He or she shouldn't be rough handled instead they should be given the complete attention in a very tender manner. There must be routine maintained for the food time, play time and the sleeping time. Even these animals enjoy a routine life.Proper and nutritional food must be provided to the animals.Make sure you don't leave your companion unattended for long hours. If such a situation arises, hire a sitter and leave them in a boarding care center.Spend quality time with your four legged friend if you want to see him/her happy and healthy.Try to render him/her comfort in every possible manner. Why is such service so important?
Just because they are animals doesn't mean that they don't have any emotions and feelings. In fact, they are similar to human beings and don't you consider them as your own child or friend. Don't you think he or she must get the best care and treatment regardless of any situation? Moreover, it has been found that if these creatures are left alone on their own they show visible signs of depression, anxiety and some weird behavioral patterns. Therefore, it becomes mandatory that they are addressed with the best and optimal treatment.

Diabolik Lovers: Episode 6 (Spoilers)
Well, my previous hope from here was slightly diminished. In the sixth episode, Yui was given a chance to leave by Subaru and guess what? She didn't take it.
One thing I did like seeing was that Yui was about to take this chance Subaru offered. He mentioned that current night was the time to escape. No one would follow her. She attempted to do so, packing her bag and what not.
Then she saw her father's diary, compelling her to stay in the mansion to find out the 'truth'. Okay, reasonable reason to stay and I don't feel the need to completely criticize her choice since again, there was an attempt to leave.
This showed she wasn't happy living there and not enjoying the attention she was receiving. This is a significant change in comparison to some other animanga although I do wish she would've just left completely, having the boys regret their attitudes towards her.
I was too hopeful.
This episode was slightly better than the previous one. Clearly, Kanato has the most serious problem as he attempted to choke her in the room of waxed figures of past brides?
At the end of the day, every single one of boys has mommy issues and Yui is obviously connected to that.
So far, Subaru has maintained his composure and gave Yui the knife which can kill vampires. She kept it and hopefully, uses it if one of the boys attempts anything non-consensual.
Well done, Subaru, I truly hope you don't become like the rest of your brothers.
Reverse Harem: Favourite Bishonen
In the anime-adaption of otome games or novels, I'm usually not fond of the focused male character.
Instead, I find the second or third competing character fascinating. Here's a compilation of my favourite bishonen~
Diabolik Lovers: An Opinion of the Showcased Abuse (Spoilers)
A particular genre of Japanese media became popular in recent years and it's known as reverse harem. Visual novels generate substantial revenue and their popularity prompted an increased production rate. Only a sliver of them get adapted into anime, though, and that's become a favourite pastime of mine.
The most recent show to make my list is Diabolik Lovers from Idea Factory. Boy, was I in for a disturbing surprise.
When I initially watched it, I had no idea the premise of the series were vampires. I don't like vampires as romantic interests because it defeats their purpose. Twilight also ruined a lot of things for me. Even though I hate vampires, I continued watching the series because it was the first I picked up after a hiatus from anime.
Honestly, the recent episodes are of concern. Episode 4 contained a metaphor for rape. Let's go into why I believe so.
The plot centred around Komori Yui, a supposedly, normal high school student who moved into a mansion occupied by six sadistic vampire brothers. They take interest - a word that apparently has more contextual uses that I thought, as this series taught me - in her due to her blood. Obvious, I suppose, but bam, she's connected to their past somehow.

Ocarina of Time: The End of a Journey
I never completely finished the game when I was much younger and my courage had increased since then, making it easier to fight the freaky looking monsters.
In comparison to my childhood, the concept of friendship within the game was stronger. The few scenes in this game made me think of how close to reality these bonds can be. For those of you who haven't played the game or remember it well, here's a brief summary interlaced with my commentary.
In the beginning, the audience becomes acquainted with Saria, a green haired Kokiri child, who is Link's childhood friend.
These scenes near the beginning of the game allowed us to understand Saria will be a vital character in the near future. In the following scenes, when Link leaves the Forest, we further understand the bond they shared when Link hesitated to leave.
Bittersweet.
Little did Link know that years would pass before he would see his friend once again. After 7 years, he returned to the forest and found that it changed considerably. Upholding his role as the Hero, the now teenage boy went to save his friend...
...only to learn that she is the Sage of the Forest.
Here Saria acknowledged that her childhood days are over and she must take responsibility given to her. It was a little saddening that two very good friends could not be together again.
This wasn't the only scene which touched me - the other was between Navi and Link in the finale.
Navi, the little fairy, had been with Link since the beginning as she was tasked to guide him through the quest. Through thick and thin, she has been with him whether it be giving hints for the area's puzzle or just nagging about moving onto the next area.
Alas, their fate was the same as Saria and Link's - Navi had completed her mission and there wasn't a need to stay with Link anymore.
At the end, Link had matured and had regained his lost time thanks to Zelda, the Sage of Time. Now he knows what awaits him and I am positive he'd make good use of his childhood.
It was at this point I reminisced about my final year in high school - it was filled with childish drama but happy memories overall. There were friends whom I've lost touch with completely but during my teenage years, they were very important to my development as an adult, especially in the transition of high school to university.
Then there are those friends who stay with you until the end. I hope for the ones who are with me now, they stay until the end of my journey.
There's a lot on my minds these days so what better way to organize my thoughts than to blog? The public is always free to leave an opinion ;)

Some Useful Tips to Keep Flies Away From Your Chicken Coop
When you raise chickens or any other domestic pets, flies are bound to hover around them and their living area. Still, you can take some precautions to reduce their number or even try to eradicate them, so that you can minimize the risks of diseases and infections they carry. Like most insects, flies love moist, warm and odorous surroundings and you would need different approaches or ideas for different flies and hence you will need to employ multi-spiked plan to drive them out! We shall talk about them one by one here.
Sand as floor covering
Use sand for run ground covering if you want the driest coop. Using sand as chicken coop litter - or bedding for that matter, though they will not sleep on the sand - will ensure that sand absorbs all the moisture from chickens' droppings and any water spill. The sand will also suppress the odor quickly and make poop cleaning easier.
Clean the poop
First thing in the morning, remember to remove the overnight chicken droppings collected in the coop overnight. Using a dropping board will make your job of cleaning the smelly poop much easier, as you can scrape it off into your compost pile.
Growing aromatic plants
Growing aromatic pants like basil, mint, rosemary and lavender, will ward off flies as they all are natural fly repellents.
Alternatively, you might think of growing some carnivorous plants that polish off insects!
Add herbs inside the coop
Do not forget to add some fresh or dried herbs inside the coop and on the nest boxes too. This is a good way of dispelling the poop smell and keeping the flies away.
Ensure the place is dry
Pooling or stagnant water around the coop is a strict "no-no". Flies happily breed in moist places. Introduce quick drainage facility wherever needed.
Sprucing it up after snacks
If you give your chickens some sweet snacks - so that they are able to withstand the summer heat -, make sure that there are no tell-tale syrupy signs that will instantly lure the flies. Clean up the area thoroughly and discard the remnants into your compost pile.
Introduce fly predators
They are tiny wasp like insects that do not hurt human beings but eat fly larva and this action prevents hatching and formation of adult flies. All that you have to do is scatter them in all manure areas. You will need only a few minutes but you would have successfully warded off the flies. These fly predators work fine in the case of other pet animals too. Millions of livestock owners have depended heavily on them for decades now.
Vertical manure composting
Do not compost your manure in a wide area. Instead, try composting your manure in a vertical pile so that the temperature inside the compost goes up leading to faster decomposition. BY doing so, you are also curtailing odor-emitting surface. Also, to increase the temperature of the compost further, try covering it with black plastic sheet. Flies prefer it warm and not hot, so they will keep away from your compost. Keep your compost pile away from your coop.
Fans inside the coop
Install fans inside the chicken coop to facilitate air flow. Flies will not be able to fight the air turbulence and will not enter the coop. Many coop owners claim that air fresheners having vanilla fragrance also drive away flies.

We're all familiar with cats and dogs getting fleas, and the budgie equivalent is red mites. I don't think there's any animal in the world that doesn't have to deal with parasites. In the wild, animals can be stuck with parasites forever, but our pets are lucky, because they have us the clean them up.
Red mites feed off many different animals, and are more common among chicken owners, but they're happy to feed on our budgies also. These tiny, eight legged mites are less than a millimetre long, and are usually a greyish colour, making them nearly invisible.
Most of the time these mites hide in every crevice and crack around your budgie's cage, including under perches, under cage lining, and under the cage itself. But, in the evening, the mites crawl onto your budgie for a feast, with the average feeding lasting two hours. After they've finished eating, they're a nice red colour.
Budgies are in real danger from red mites, because the mites breed very quickly. Their week long breeding cycle means that in short space of time a small group of mites can develop into a colony of thousands. With thousands of tiny mouths feeding on your budgie, they can quickly become anaemic through loss of blood.
As if that isn't bad enough, your budgie's skin will be irritated constantly, especially when the mites are feeding. So, your budgie ends up getting hardly any sleep at night, which is bad for their physical and mental health. It's common for budgies with mites to be irritable and sleep a lot during the day.
While most budgie illnesses can't pass to people, red mites aren't fussy about who they feed from. If you notice little, red bite marks on your skin, it's a good indication that the mites could be feeding off you as well.
If you suspect your budgie has mites, a quick way to discover them is to wipe the underneath of their perches with a piece of tissue. If it comes out red, that's squashed mites, so you know they're there. Another way to discover them is to line the bottom of your budgie's cage with plain white paper, and watch for mites showing up against it, especially in the corners.
Eliminating Red Mites
Unfortunately, there's no easy solution to your mite problem. What you need is some elbow grease, and a lot of patience. You need to wash your budgie's cage, and all its accessories, in warm, soapy water. You need to completely submerge the cage, to make sure you get all the mites.
You also need to clean the whole area surrounding your budgie's cage, since the mites will crawl into any tiny crevice or hidey hole to rest and breed. It only takes a few surviving mites to give you a big infestation in a few weeks time.
After you've scrubbed the cage and its surroundings, you need to do it all again 5-6 days later. Since the mites have a 7 day breeding cycle, you want to get any newly hatched mites before they have a chance to breed.
When you've repeated this cleaning cycle two or three times, there's a good chance you've eliminated the mites, but you need to keep an eye on the situation.
There are some poisons available for dealing with mites, but most are poisonous to your budgie as well, and you wouldn't want to kill your bird just to get rid of its mites. Cleaning is the best solution, even if it is a little tedious.

Raising chicken is a good sustainable income project. Moreover, it is a healthy and productive way of spending your free time. This is because chicken keep the compound free of insects and provide fresh protein-rich eggs. In order to improve the living conditions and productivity of chicken, the farmer should start investing in better methods of raising their poultry. He or she should adopt new ways of feeding the chicken and invest in devices that will maximize their production. This can be achieved by using a homemade chicken feeder and homemade chicken incubator respectively.
Homemade incubator
Incubators are devices that are used to hatch eggs for experimental purposes or so as to increase the number of chickens in a farm. You can make a homemade incubator using simple materials, such as a box and a heat source. On the other hand, you can decide to come up with a more elaborate assembly that is able to control, not only the temperature, but also the humidity in the incubator.
You should design it in such a way that it allows proper circulation of air. Therefore, make openings on the sides of the box and also under it. Use recycled commercial egg trays and egg cartons to hold the eggs in place and install a light bulb to provide warmth. If you want to maximize the number of eggs that hatch, you will have to install temperature and humidity controllers.
Homemade feeder
Chicken farmers always look for ways to feed their chicken effectively while minimizing the amount of food that goes to waste. There are some commercial feeders that are designed for that purpose. However, they are expensive. So, if you are on a tight budget, it is better to use readily available materials to make homemade feeders.

How To Make A Chicken Coop Through Careful Deliberation Of Aspects Involved
How to make a chicken coop is not something that you should take lightly. It is not at all similar to putting up a box-like structure where your chickens will live. In fact, there are many aspects of chicken coop building that you need to pay attention to.
Materials To Use
The materials you will use for the bird cage will most likely be influenced by the amount of money you have allotted for this project. There are various materials you can use such as scrap lumber, recycled materials, adapted dog house, drums and more. The materials you will use will have a significant effect on how the final coop will appear.
Size
This will be affected by how many chickens you like to raise. Putting in too many birds in a very limited pen space is not healthy for your chickens. It may cause aggression problems, parasite and other health problems.
Chicken Run
This refers to the area outside and/or surrounding the coop where the birds are allowed to roam. This adequate apace is necessary for the animals to have their exercise that is needed for better lying of eggs. Ideally, the running space must be six feet square per chicken.
Protection Against Predators
No matter where you live, urban, suburban or rural area, there will always be predators that will put your chickens in danger (animals and other humans alike). You can put up chain-link fence, but this might not be enough. Small predators like raccoons and skunks may still get through the fence holes or even dig under just to get their chicken dinner. Use chicken wires with small holes not just for building a fence, but also underneath the chicken run.
Mobile/Fixed Foundation
A portable or mobile foundation will make coop maintenance easier. You will simply move the coop accordingly to clean underneath it. However, with a fixed foundation, the chicken pen will have more structural integrity and will also hold up much better through tear and wear.
Coop Windows
Windows play very important roles for the chicken raising and coop maintenance. Through windows, natural light from the sun will shine on your birds, making them healthier and more apt to lay eggs. Windows will also provide ventilation within the structure. Droppings from the chickens can produce gas that you simply cannot endure. These gases can escape through the windows.
Chicken Feeder
Your chickens' health will be greatly affected by the kind of feeder you used, as well as where you will place the feeder. If the chickens cannot reach the foods properly, it will result to unnecessary spilling. This will make the birds to peck at the flooring and cause structural damages after some time.
Climate
You just consider the general climate that occurs in your area. If it rains frequently, position it in a way that it will not be flooded. Shield your coop from strong winds.
Roosting/Nesting
There must be a rod in the pen where the chickens can roost or perch. As for nesting, you have to provide boxes specifically for laying eggs. About 2-3 chickens should be able to nest in your provided nesting places.

Top 5 Bird Psychos
In eyes of humans birds are likely to be among the most peaceful and calm creatures. However, such an impression might be easily dispelled if to look at huge birds of prey. They can outrange even some aggressive mammals, as their habits and lifestyle is related to hunting, attacking and meat-eating. Some of them were honored in the list of top 5 furious birds of prey.
It is not for nothing one of the Ukrainian troops' division is called Erne. This bird species is also called golden eagle that is national symbol of about 5 countries in the world. Fierce character of eagles scares most of the small species, as cruelty is in its blood. If it hunts a small turtle, it won't eat immediately or at once. The erne is rather fly high and then drops a prey into the rocks. In Mongolia these eagles are even used in hunting alongside humans; where the hunter smears, the flying predator will kill a dozen of animals for pleasure.
Butcher bird is very small, but its psychotic imagination speaks on its cruelty. This bird is a true maniac among bird species. Notwithstanding an ability to eat some insects while flying, it hunts small rodents. Generally, this bird easily pins its victims on tree knots and bites it slowly. Butcher bird has tenacious beak, cruel temper and a good appetite.
Vultures are well-known birds of prey in Africa. Most species of vultures are quiet, patient scavengers, but black American subspecies of brown vulture has a significant defect in the breed - a weak sense of smell. Therefore, usually these birds follow normal vultures. Sometimes they even follow birds of prey in groups and when meal is found they essentially take it from a real owner. Groups of black vulture also hunt animals in motion, usually taking the offspring.
Kea parrot is distributed in New Zealand and is famous for its irritating behavior and scream it produces. Kea is incredibly curious examining everything unfamiliar with the help of beak, attacking cars, picnics and backpacks with things. Trash bags are, of course, the most favorite leisure. But the worst thing in their behavior is that they bite sheep, thus eating them by piece alive.
Pelican is probably the most insane bird in the world. The key thing about this species is that they feed of semi-passive way. The biggest beak in the world allows them eating prey alive, including ducks, pigeon and penguins in Africa. Every living thing that gets in the beak of a pelican is doomed to flounder helplessly in hydrochloric acid gastric juice with no hope of saving the resistance.
